Mary Burke

Counsellor
Mary has lived and worked in Co Wicklow for most of her life. She has a background as a health professional and worked as a physiotherapist in the health service in a range of settings including hospitals, LauraLynn hospice, community and primary care. Mary became interested in the psychological impact of health issues and the life changes that accompany them due to her healthcare work. She trained as a counsellor/psychotherapist obtaining a BA in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy and an MA in Pluralistic Counselling and Psychotherapy alongside her physiotherapy work. She volunteered in Living Life Counselling in Bray for 5 ½ years and has experience in cancer support work. Mary completed Year 1 of MSc in Loss and Bereavement (Clinical) in 2023 with RCSI and Irish Hospice Foundation and plans to return to complete year 2 in 2026.”

Anne-marie O’Riordan

Play Therapist

Anne-marie O’Riordan is an accredited Play Therapist, Clinical Supervisor, and College Tutor with a deep passion for supporting children and families through challenging times. Alongside her private practice, Play Therapy Wicklow, she facilitates parent workshops that help strengthen understanding and connection between parents and their children.

Through her work with Wicklow Cancer Support, she offers individual play therapy for children whose families are affected by cancer. Play therapy provides a gentle, creative way for children to express feelings that can be hard to put into words — helping them make sense of change, cope with worry or loss, and find moments of safety and hope amidst uncertainty.

Dympna Keegan

Reflexology, Yoga, Meditation

Dympna Keegan works as a Therapist for Wicklow Cancer Support for many years.  

Coming from a nursing background she offers Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Psychotherapy, Hypnotherapy, Yoga & Meditation.  Dympna worked in London, New York & Dublin before setting up practice in Wicklow.

Eamonn O’Brien

Acupuncturist

Eamonn O’Brien is a qualified practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture.
He has had 20 years of clinical experience.

In more recent years he has been working in the voluntary sector.

At Wicklow Cancer Support, Eamonn’s work is centred on stress  management and relaxation.
He is a member of the Acupuncture Foundation Professional Association.

Maeve Dowling

Counselling & Psychotherapy

Maeve offers a compassionate, person-centered space. She has a special interest in the area of serious illness diagnosis, loss and grief. Maeve trained in Counselling & Psychotherapy with the Tivoli Institute and holds an MSc in Psychotherapy Studies and a Diploma in Supervision. She is accredited with the Irish Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy.
